The Better Way to Build Tip of the Week

Our Tip: Don’t Plan a Construction Project to Begin First Thing in the Spring

Why not? Due to the thawing of snow, and April showers, there is excess moisture in the ground. This leads to various additional costs and delays, such as:

  • Half load restrictions on roads means additional trips for trucks delivering supplies and materials (the cost is passed on to you).
  • The instability of seasonal roads and driveways means that supplies and materials may not even get delivered (and project delays ensue).
  • Higher water table levels makes excavation near impossible. Water fills in faster than you can dig — even using sump pumps and trenching.

Schedule your project start date for a less grievous time of the year. Trust us, you won’t be sorry.
