Designed with flexibility in mind, it stands beautifully on its own while seamlessly preparing the site and layout for the future main cottage.
The Approach
The design strategy focused on creating a functional, comfortable, and visually cohesive space that would serve immediate needs while anticipating Phase Two. The traditional architectural silhouette is elevated with modern exterior finishes, including dark wood siding, fiberglass windows, and a sleek standing seam steel roof.
Inside, warm materials—pine paneling, engineered hardwood, stained wood accents, and custom maple cabinetry—bring a welcoming cottage feel. Structural and mechanical provisions, such as hydronic heating rough-ins and framed future doorways, ensure smooth integration when Phase Two begins.
The Outcome
Phase One delivers a complete and beautifully finished living environment that stands as a retreat of its own. The oversized bedrooms, spacious great room, and service kitchenette create a comfortable haven for guests while providing everyday functionality. At the same time, the garage offers ample storage and workspace. The structure looks and feels complete—but remains intentionally poised for growth, ready to connect into the next chapter of the project.
